01 / Behind every organisation

Strong workplaces are built around real people.

Targets, deadlines, reorganisations and responsibility can create pressure. The people carrying that pressure deserve meaningful support.

When colleagues are anxious, exhausted, struggling with confidence or dealing with personal difficulties, a confidential conversation can provide space to think more clearly and consider helpful next steps.

Best Mind Therapy offers a personal, independent option for employers who want to make thoughtful support available to their people, whether teams are working from an office, remotely or in a hybrid environment.

Our role is to support the individual, not to judge their performance or provide medical fitness-for-work assessments.

02 / Support tailored to the people

Workplace wellbeing services with a human touch.

A flexible starting point for organisations of different sizes, with the individual client's needs and clinical suitability at the centre.

Confidential one-to-one sessions

Employer-funded or independently booked appointments to explore work-related stress, emotional wellbeing, confidence, overwhelm or personal pressures, where this approach is appropriate.

Stress and burnout conversations

Thoughtful support for people experiencing sustained pressure, difficulty switching off or feelings of exhaustion, alongside workplace adjustments and appropriate healthcare when needed.

Confidence and communication

Explore practical ways to approach difficult conversations, boundaries, presentations, workplace changes and everyday confidence at work.

Leadership and management wellbeing

A private space for leaders to reflect on responsibility, decision pressure, work–life boundaries and their own wellbeing, without turning therapy into performance coaching.

Workshops by discussion

Where appropriate, we can discuss the scope of a bespoke, psychoeducational wellbeing session for a team or small group. Content, format and fees are agreed before booking.

Signposting and onward care

If someone needs a different modality, specialist treatment, GP advice, occupational health or urgent support, we'll explain appropriate next steps rather than promise one approach fits everybody.

03 / For employers and people teams

A considered option for a wide range of workplaces.

From growing small businesses to established employers, the right support depends on your workforce and circumstances.

Conversations may be useful when someone is returning to work, facing major organisational change, struggling with interpersonal pressures, or seeking better boundaries and a healthier relationship with work.

We can discuss suitable arrangements for UK-based employers, HR and people teams, owner-managers, charities and professional services, without presenting one-size-fits-all wellbeing programmes.

04 / How I work

Practical therapy. Respectful choice. Room to think.

Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapy, NLP approaches and suitable CBT-informed elements can form part of an individual conversation.

My style is collaborative and forward-looking: exploring current concerns, what matters to the person, the direction they want to move in and what could help them make manageable progress.

Hypnotherapy can be offered as part of a personalised therapeutic approach, with discussion of consent, suitability and expectations. NLP techniques and CBT-informed ways of considering thoughts, responses and patterns may be included when relevant.

Every individual has a choice about whether to take part, and there is no promise of a guaranteed outcome or set number of sessions.

05 / Confidentiality really matters

An employee's private session is not an employer's report.

A clear boundary between funding support and receiving private clinical information helps people feel able to engage.

We discuss confidentiality, safeguarding, data protection and the scope of any employer agreement before sessions begin. Employers do not automatically receive clinical notes or the content of a private conversation simply because they fund appointments.

Any information-sharing arrangements must have an appropriate lawful basis and respect professional confidentiality, consent and safety or legal obligations. Any organisational feedback, if agreed, should be limited, proportionate and designed not to reveal individuals' personal information.

We will also clarify which contact route employees use and what is appropriate to share when arranging sessions.

06 / Working together

Straightforward to begin. Thoughtful in delivery.

We'll agree what's possible and appropriate before any organisational commitment is made.

01

Start a confidential enquiry

Tell me about your organisation, employee numbers where relevant, and whether you're exploring individual support, a workshop or a more tailored arrangement.

02

Agree the practical scope

Discuss suitability, UK-online delivery, how people access appointments, privacy boundaries, fees and any referral or safeguarding procedures.

03

Support and review

Individuals decide whether to engage. We can review the arrangement with the organisation while protecting confidentiality and avoiding claims of guaranteed business outcomes.

07 / Good support works alongside a healthy workplace

Wellbeing starts with the environment, too.

Individual therapeutic support is one part of a wider picture. Employers also need to identify and manage organisational causes of work-related stress, from workload and role clarity to relationships and change.

HSE guidance explains employers' duties to assess work-related stress risks. NICE encourages a preventive strategy that addresses workplace conditions, with individual support alongside it rather than as a substitute.

Best Mind Therapy provides individual therapeutic and agreed psychoeducational support; it does not replace an employer's legal duties, occupational health assessment or specialist mental health services.

Gary Smith, psychotherapist, clinical hypnotherapist, lecturer and supervisor at Best Mind Therapy

08 / Meet your practitioner

Hello, I'm Gary.

Psychotherapist, Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapist, clinical supervisor and hypnotherapy lecturer based in Swindon.

I work with individuals and organisations with a practical and respectful focus, helping people explore what might be useful rather than imposing a standard programme.

My professional affiliations include AfSFH (Reg.), MNCH (Reg.) and CNHC (Reg.). I teach and supervise other hypnotherapists, and aim to work carefully within the limits of my training and the needs of each person.

You can discuss the way a proposed organisational arrangement would work, including suitability, confidentiality, support boundaries and any need for onward referral.

09 / Questions from employers and teams

Corporate wellbeing questions, answered clearly.

Do you offer corporate psychotherapy across the whole UK?

Yes. Suitable individual appointments can take place online for employees and organisations throughout the UK. The physical practice is in Swindon, with local in-person arrangements discussed separately. Nationwide on-site delivery is not implied.

Can an employer pay for an employee's sessions?

Yes, we can discuss employer-funded individual appointments or a bespoke arrangement. The employee must be free to consent to taking part. Scope, fees, access and privacy arrangements are agreed before any sessions are booked.

Will managers or HR receive notes about what an employee says?

Not automatically. An employer paying for therapy does not, by itself, entitle it to private clinical notes or session details. Confidentiality and any necessary exceptions, lawful information sharing and safeguarding arrangements are explained clearly in advance.

What issues can people discuss?

People may wish to explore stress, pressure, burnout, work-related confidence, boundaries, communication, change and difficulties affecting wellbeing. We consider individual suitability, and specialist or medical support may be more appropriate for some concerns.

Do you offer workshops or group sessions?

Potentially. We can discuss the scope of a bespoke psychoeducational wellbeing session for a team or small group. Any format and subject matter would be confirmed before booking; it is different from individual psychotherapy.

Do you use hypnotherapy, NLP and CBT techniques?

My work centres on Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapy and may include NLP approaches and appropriate CBT-informed elements. Techniques are explained and selected collaboratively. I do not describe this as a full specialist CBT service or promise particular outcomes.

How is this different from occupational health or an EAP?

This is a tailored independent therapeutic service, not a comprehensive employee assistance programme, occupational health provider or fitness-for-work assessment. We can discuss how it may complement existing workplace support and where a different service is required.

How do we assess whether the support is useful?

We can agree appropriate review points and practical feedback about how arrangements are working, while protecting employee confidentiality. Reduced absence, retention and productivity are not guaranteed outcomes of an individual therapeutic service.

How much do corporate arrangements cost?

Business arrangements are discussed individually because the scope, number and type of sessions, delivery format and administrative needs can vary. Contact Gary to discuss a proposed arrangement; no corporate price is advertised on this page.

10 / Begin with a conversation

Let's talk about what your people need.

Whether you represent a small business, a charity or a larger organisation, you can enquire without committing to a programme.

Tell me briefly what kind of support you have in mind. We can explore the scope, practical arrangements and whether Best Mind Therapy would be a suitable fit.

Please avoid including identifiable employee health information in an initial employer enquiry. This is not an emergency service.
